FUTURE RARITY ALERT! ORIGINAL 1980 PRESSING ON CLONE!
Let's start by saying...WHY HASN'T MINIMAL WAVE RELEASED A RETROSPECTIVE RELEASE WITH DENIS DEFRANGE YET?!?! Sector Wars is a minimal synth jam just as good or better than anything they've released so far (which is a MASSIVE compliment) and his mostly synth-strumental recordings make up half of this LP. Minimal synth fans should stop right here and proceed to checkout with this LP for that reason alone. Fans of the Patty Donahue fronted Waitresses will be stoked to hear an early version of I Know What Boys Like included as track one - side one titled Wait Here Ill Be Right Back. Tin Huey fans will be genuinely pleased to hear Tin Huey saxophonist and Tom Waits main (horn) man for the better part of last couple of decades going avant-new wave solo on three tracks and Pere Ubu fans will recognize the larger-than-life vocalist on Sunset In Hibernia. There's also a couple of super cool cuts by the underdocumented Haff Notz and Hurricane Bob. The latter's, Andrea, has a subtly Tall Dwarfs vibe that's been stuck in our heads since we first heard it! Twelve tracks in all that make this comp a MUST OWN for fans and DJs of the Wavier side of the 80s. New and Synth especially.
