Hopefully by now most of you folks are familiar with Thee Oh Sees - we're pretty big fans around these parts, and John Dwyer & Co. can rarely do wrong in our eyes. These dudes (and lady) work hard for the money & are definitely one of the more prolific bands of recent memory, releasing singles, EPs & LPs at such a brisk clip that even die-hard fans have a problem keeping up. Luckily for everyone, Dwyer's own Castleface Records has released this 2xLP collection of all their singles to date just in time for Record Store Day! The first LP contains the material previously included on the bonus CD of their Kill Shaman rarities comp 'Zork's Tape Bruise', while LP #2 has everything released after that - including their Sub Pop Singles Club tracks, compilation tracks, their tunes from splits with Ty Segall & Jay Reatard, and tracks from singles on Woodsist, Slowboy, and more! From that description alone, one might think this would lack the flow & cohesion of a proper Oh Sees release, but the band has cultivated such a unique sound from the get-go that the sonic sum is greater than it's parts! We would definitely recommend this if you're an Oh Sees fan, but this is also a great primer & introduction for the uninitiated! Spot-on album art recreations on the front cover too (har har)! - MEATY!
