Mississippi Records is serving up a double shot of Dead Moon reissues this spring so we can all get blasted !!I Fuck Yes !!!! This time around, they've given 1991's "Stranded In The Mystery Zone" and 1992's "Strange Pray Tell" the full on reproduction treatment. Sadly out-of-print for nearly twenty years, and impossible to find used (better get ready to wrestle one outta someone's hands), Mississippi Records has given us the second chance we need to grab these absolutely classic albums from one of America's most unruly and DIY punk bands. Mississippi doesn't release modern bands too often, so you know these records are f'ing important. Here with the facts is the Mississippi PR Dept:
"One of Dead Moon's all time classics, filled with some of their catchiest and most rousing songs. Rockers of the highest caliber such as 'Destination X,' 'Fire in the Western World,' and 'Don't Look Back' as well as perfect ballads such as 'You Can't Do That' and Out in the Blues.' An utter masterpiece of psychedelic rock straight from the heart."
We couldn't agree more--frenzied rock n roll doesn't get any better than Dead Moon on "Strange Pray Tell". Fred Cole and Toody belt out some of the most in-yer-face psych-washed punk blues anthems you'll lay yer ears on (Fire In The Western World?, 13 Going On 21? or Don't Look Back?), and well don't forget Andrew Loomis' skeletal yet driving garage cavestomp furiously pins all the madness down. We might describe Dead Moon as falling somewhere between Gun Club, the Cramps and the Gories, but that would be beside the point. You just gotta hear to believe and you need to throw this one on yer turntable now. As highly suggested as they come and an absolute fucking classic. Don't miss out on this one again. DEAD ON RECOMMENDED!!!!!!!!
