7in - Tin Huey - Breakfast With The Hueys (Orig. on Clone Records)
FUTURE RARITY ALERT! ORIGINAL PRESSING ON CLONE!
On their 1978 follow-up single Tin Huey dumbed it down a bit. The primary influences are still evident...Beefheart Soft Machine Zappa etc. But Breakfast With The Hueys is a much easier pill to swallow. These two tracks are much more accessible than those included on the debut not surprising considering the hindsighted observation that these guys were on the fast track to major label success. The freak flag is just flying at half-mast compared fully insane debut. Tin Huey find a groove twice on Breakfast and ride it out through supper. On the debut the repetition if there was any disappeared long before lunch. Both are great just better suited to different parts of the day. Well take Breakfast in the morning and Puppet Wipes at night cuz whats a day without morning coffee and a nightcap? Nothing worth living for thats what.
